Our Club
We were based in Keokuk Iowa and we moved our club up here last year. There is a lot of potential in the Quad Cities for a great club.
Our President of the Club Mike Shumate started Geode Fest 16 years ago. The officers in our club was also officers in the Geode Fest. He decided it was time to turn it over to the The Keokuk Area Convention & Tourism Bureau. Since all the Officers in Geode Fest lived in the QCA he thought it would be great to move his Club here.
What we do
We are a new active club in the Quad City Area and surrounding area. We meet once a month and will be having field trips, rock and gem shows, lapidary teaching and jewelry making, learning about all different kinds of rocks and much more. We are members of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Come join us. Very low membership fees.
Our youngest member. Children of all ages are welcome. Lets teach our kids to be Rock Hounds early!
Next Meeting June 13th at The Pepping House
Our next meeting will be June 13th at the Pepping's house. From 1 till 5 we will be wet polishing rocks. Meeting will start at 5. There will be snacks and water. Any other drinks please bring. Bring a lawn chair. We will provide a plastic apron but make sure you wear clothes that you can get wet. YOU WILL GET WET!!!! Silent Auction at the end of the meeting. The theme of the meeting will be what we polished. Please RSVP so we know how many people are coming.
