Our Club
We were based in Keokuk Iowa and we moved our club up here last year. There is a lot of potential in the Quad Cities for a great club.
Our President of the Club Mike Shumate started Geode Fest 16 years ago. The officers in our club was also officers in the Geode Fest. He decided it was time to turn it over to the The Keokuk Area Convention & Tourism Bureau. Since all the Officers in Geode Fest lived in the QCA he thought it would be great to move his Club here.
What we do
We are a new active club in the Quad City Area and surrounding area. We meet once a month and will be having field trips, rock and gem shows, lapidary teaching and jewelry making, learning about all different kinds of rocks and much more. We are members of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Come join us. Very low membership fees.
Our youngest member. Children of all ages are welcome. Lets teach our kids to be Rock Hounds early!
Next Meeting July 11th
Next meeting is July 11th at 3PM at the upper building at Dahl Ford. We will be sifting opals from gold enriched dirt. Guaranteed to get opal and maybe even a small piece of gold. Meeting to follow the sifting of opals. Our education will be on Opals. Like always there will be a silent auction at the end of the meeting. Bring your cash and get some great deals. If you have something you would like to put in the auction please bring it so you can make some $'s. 3 door prices will be given out this month.
