Our Club
We were based in Keokuk Iowa and we moved our club up here last year. There is a lot of potential in the Quad Cities for a great club.
Our President of the Club Mike Shumate started Geode Fest 16 years ago. The officers in our club was also officers in the Geode Fest. He decided it was time to turn it over to the The Keokuk Area Convention & Tourism Bureau. Since all the Officers in Geode Fest lived in the QCA he thought it would be great to move his Club here.
What we do
We are a new active club in the Quad City Area and surrounding area. We meet once a month and will be having field trips, rock and gem shows, lapidary teaching and jewelry making, learning about all different kinds of rocks and much more. We are members of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Come join us. Very low membership fees.
Our youngest member. Children of all ages are welcome. Lets teach our kids to be Rock Hounds early!
Annual Rock and Gem show October 4th and 5th
2025 rock, mineral, fossil, gem and jewelry show. October 4th 9-5 October 5th 9-4. Rock Island County Fair Grounds 4200 Archer Drive East Moline, Illinois. Vendors (over 40) from all over the USA. Biggest show in the Quad Cities Area EVER! Silent Auctions, Cracking Geodes from around the world, Pan for treasures in the Sluice, learn how to flint knap and food and drinks available on site. Admission $1 kids under 12 free.
