Our Club
We were based in Keokuk Iowa and we moved our club up here last year. There is a lot of potential in the Quad Cities for a great club.
Our President of the Club Mike Shumate started Geode Fest 16 years ago. The officers in our club was also officers in the Geode Fest. He decided it was time to turn it over to the The Keokuk Area Convention & Tourism Bureau. Since all the Officers in Geode Fest lived in the QCA he thought it would be great to move his Club here.
What we do
We are a new active club in the Quad City Area and surrounding area. We meet once a month and will be having field trips, rock and gem shows, lapidary teaching and jewelry making, learning about all different kinds of rocks and much more. We are members of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Come join us. Very low membership fees.
Our youngest member. Children of all ages are welcome. Lets teach our kids to be Rock Hounds early!
August meeting
Our next meeting will be August 2nd at 4pm till 6pm at Dahl Ford (Showroom conference room) 1310 East Kimberly Road Davenport, Iowa. From 4 till 5 we will be painting rocks to hide around the quad cities for our October show. Please come help! Our education will be Sodalite. Lots on display and even some in our monthly silent auction. Have anything to sell at the silent auction or want to bring a sodalite rock to display you are welcome too. Picking a date to do our Lapidary Day wet polishing and cuttings rocks. Hope to see everyone there.
