Our Club
We were based in Keokuk Iowa and we moved our club up here last year. There is a lot of potential in the Quad Cities for a great club.
Our President of the Club Mike Shumate started Geode Fest 16 years ago. The officers in our club was also officers in the Geode Fest. He decided it was time to turn it over to the The Keokuk Area Convention & Tourism Bureau. Since all the Officers in Geode Fest lived in the QCA he thought it would be great to move his Club here.
What we do
We are a new active club in the Quad City Area and surrounding area. We meet once a month and will be having field trips, rock and gem shows, lapidary teaching and jewelry making, learning about all different kinds of rocks and much more. We are members of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Come join us. Very low membership fees.
Our youngest member. Children of all ages are welcome. Lets teach our kids to be Rock Hounds early!
June meeting
Coming up soon is our monthly meeting. June 7th at 4PM. Dahl Ford building west of the showroom. 1210 East Kimberly Road Davenport Iowa. We will be cracking geodes free to members. After our geode cracking Sharon from Sharon's Crystal Palace will be talking about metaphysical rocks and what energy rocks have. After our meeting will be our monthly silent auction. Come and have some fun cracking geodes, leaning about energy from rocks from Sharon and have fun bidding on the silent auction items. Hope to see everyone there
